A walk to Monmouth

Last year my mom decided she was going to walk to Monmouth and I would take her home after I got off work. I thought she was crazy, that is such a long walk. Well she talked Megan and I into going with her this year.

I got my boy's ready dropped them off at my mother in law's house and met my mom and Megan at their house. At about 9:00 we made our way out. I must admit I was a little nervous, what if I have to go to the bathroom, what if I get hurt, what if we get hit by a car. Lots of things were going through my head. On our way out of the drive way, I said "oh I was going to put on some sun screen" but Megan and my mom told me I didn't need it. I said " we will see about that". So we started out really good, talking and having fun. But then about 2 hours into it, we were ready to bed done. Our feet, hip's and knees were killing us. But with a little mind over matter we made it 11.1 miles to our destination (the Beauty Lounge) where we drank lots of cold water and sat down until my dad came to pick us up.

Once we got home, we took a nice shower and tried to relax. Well Megan and my mom got to relax, I had a birthday party to go to. Anyway, I looked in the mirror, and was in shock at how SUNBURNED I was. I am a freaking lobster. I guess I will never listen to Megan and my mom again. But I guess 3 hours in the sun will do that to you. So I woke up this morning with sore toes and hips, my allergies in full bloom, and my sun burn killing me. I am not looking forward to taking a shower and feeling the intense pain of the hot water hitting me. Even though I can barely walk I had fun and am looking forward to doing it again.

anniversary

4 years ago today I married my best friend. What an amazing day it was. I loved every part of my wedding, the cake, food, my dress, and my flowers was everything I had imagined. My plan was to write more, but Jace is fussy so I guess I'm not going to.

Tackle it Tuesday

I have always been an athletic person. I ran track in Jr. high and high school and cross country in high school. I love to run, but only really run on a tread mill. It is MUCH diffrent running outside. But after watching the contestants from the Biggest Loser run a marathon last week, my sister and I became completely motivated to run a half marathon. Megan and I decided that in a week we will start to train for our half marathon, but I wanted to get used to running outside before we started. So my tackle it Tuesday was to start my outdoor running.

My original plan for today was to go to the gym do some weight training and then go for a run. But Jay had to work overtime and had to change my plans. So after eating dinner I decided to lace up the ol' shoes and head out. My goal was to do 1/2 hour/3 miles. To my suprise I felt so good the whole time I was out there I didn't stop once. When I got home I had been out there for 40 min. After drinking some water I got in the car to see how far I had gone. And again to my suprise I went 4 miles. That is a whole mile more that I had planned. I am so proud of myself. So now I just have to stay motivated and run every day. But I have tackled the first day and that is usually he hard part.

Mothers day

This was my second mothers day, and I got to celebrate it with my wonderful boys. We started the day off going to Church where I had them dedicated. Due to Jay's work schedule he wasn't able to join us. After Church we had my dad snap a few shots of the boy's, my mom and I. Then we headed home and waited for Jay to get home. My day wasn't to eventful. We headed to Jay's mom's later that night. But I had told Jay that I was off "mom duty" for the night. So he made dinner, did the dishes, got the boys ready for bed and changed diapers while I tried to do nothing. It is really hard not to do anything when you are so used to doing stuff for the kids. Jay got me a sewing basket to go with my new sewing machine he got me for our anniversary that we will be having on the 21st. I am just so excited for all the mothers day's to come, and for my boy's to be old enough to do things for me too.

Tackle it Tuesday

So I thought I would join everyone in the tackle it Tuesday's. My laundry room/salon has needed a little attention for a while now, so I decided to start there. I have had a picture to hang in there for about 7 months and my husband just wouldn't do it for me. So I finally told him tonight is the night, and he did it. Now it shouldn't echo as much in there. All I am waiting for now is a shelf to be hung so I can put all my laundry soap and stuff on it. I am hoping for it to be done tomorrow. I would also like some other pictures to hang on the wall and a shelf below my mirror so I can set some of my product on it. But it feels so good to go in there now. It isn't as crowded.
